This Austin-area zip line tour features six dual zip lines, three suspension bridges and access to McKinney Roughs Nature Park. Zip Lost Pines is located just 15 minutes east of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Come experience the longest side-by-side zip line tour in Texas! We’re looking for an experienced, motivated and creative individual to join our team as a Zip Line Tour Host.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1-5 years in customer service; great communication skills highly recommended.

COMPENSATION: $10.00


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Guest ambassadors are our front line for customer inquiries, bookings, and service. Guest ambassadors are responsible for taking online and over-the-phone bookings, answering customer inquiries, maintaining tour schedules using an online reservation system, and planning special events. Guest ambassadors are responsible for greeting customers, checking individuals and groups in, assisting with retail sales, and preparing individuals and groups prior to using the course. Applicants must be personable and have a strong customer service orientation. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must. Applicants must have strong presentation skills and be knowledgeable or willing and able to learn about Zip Lost Pines has to offer. Training will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:​

  • Establish a warm and friendly relationship with guests in person, on the phone, or through email.
  • Manage reservations through an online booking engine.
  • Be knowledgeable of all aspects of the tour and properly answer all customer inquiries.
  • Assist customers in booking tours.
  • Drive guest shuttle to the beginning of Zip Line Tour and pick them up at the conclusion of the tour.
  • Assist with retail sales including the management of cash, credit cards, and POS system.
  • Help prepare guest to use the course.
  • Solve problems that invariably arise with logistics, tour coordination, large group booking, rescheduling, and customer service issues.
  • Assist other staff in job duties.
  • Assist with facility maintenance including cleaning, organizing, and base camp.

Required Experience:

  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic background checks.
  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug screenings.
  • Able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the US.
  • Flexible work schedule required. (evenings, weekends, & holidays)
  • Self-motivated, punctual, ethical, and committed to job.
  • Minimum Age 18 w/ valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Must meet Zip Lost Pines rider requirement guidelines.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Speak and understand English proficiently.
  • Read and write in English proficiently.
  • Must be able to drive guest shuttle to and from different locations.
  • Use computers and become proficient in variety of software.
  • Perform duties without sitting for 3 hours.
  • Perform work outdoors for extended periods of time while exposed to conditions such as temperature extremes, precipitation, and wind.
  • Work onsite during the day, at night, on weekdays, on weekends, and on holidays.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to drive guests in a company operated shuttle vehicle.

 

Certifications:

  • First Aid and CPR required or the ability to attain within 30 days of employment.

 

Salary & Benefits:

Tour Guides will take guests on an exhilarating experience through the Lost Pines from zip line to zip line while ensuring the highest level of guest safety is met at all times. Training will be provided.

DATE NEEDED: Immediately

POSITION: Zip Tour Guide
POSITION TYPE: Hourly
EDUCATION: High School or GED required
EXPERIENCE: Experience in guest relations, hospitality, recreation
REQUIRED: Valid Texas Driver’s license with cleaning driving record
COMPENSATION: $16 per hour plus tips

Duties and Responsibilities:​

  • Guide guests through zip line tour.
  • Conduct an educational learning component during the tour for guests to engage in the learning of the surrounding environment.
  • Conduct continuous tour inspections including site, personal protective equipment (guides & guests), and zip tour operating systems.
  • Complete all necessary tour documentation for daily operations.
  • Gearing up/down guests.
  • Open/close duties for the zip tour.
  • Guest check in and tour orientation.
  • Driving guests to/from welcome center.
  • Provide an inclusive, friendly, and supportive experience for guests.
  • Perform additional tour guide duties as necessary and assigned.

 

​Required Experience:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, guides, operations managerregarding scheduled bookings, shuttle pick up/drop off, etc.
  • Ability to assess self, other guides, and guests for proper gear set-up.
  • Ability to assess zip tour for daily operations or emergency evacuations.
  • Ability to assess weather reports, weather radar and communicate any necessary protocol to guides, guests, and tour manager.
  • Ability to operate reservation software systems.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s license or ability to acquire within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment & periodic background check and drug screening.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to zip from platform to platform in a single bound.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in the challenge course, adventure park, or zip line industry.
  • Experience working with reservations and tour bookings, guest relations.

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to be outdoors guiding tour operations in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, fog, seldom snow but on the occasion).
  • Ability to react to stressful situations that could require a rescue plan to be enacted.
  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic background checks.
  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug screenings.
  • Able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the US.
  • Must meet Zip Lost Pines rider requirement guidelines.
  • Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Ability to drive guests in a company operated shuttle vehicle.
